Celebrating, Counting Down! 2024 At Our Door!
We are dedicated to moving our mission forward and continuing our work in social justice!
Seven more days in 2023…and so many reasons to celebrate the year! 🎉 🧡 🐉
We appreciate our donors, people like you, who have helped us get remanufactured laptops out to more than 1,000 K-12 students this year.
To convey the impact of our donor’s generosity, today we want share images of a partner site’s laptop recipients (from the Global Impact Initiative in Austin, Texas):
Something Useful at Year-End: New Giving Options for Bridging Tech. The Giving Block - provides tools to easily give DAF, Crypto and Stock Gifts.
DAFs -
We receive quite a few Donor Advised Fund (DAF) gifts in support of our work. As of 2023, we can receive a DAF gift via a 3-step process that starts on our website’s giving page. That page includes a ‘Giving Block’ tool that connects to most large providers of DAF services in the United States. The flow: (1) Click on “Make A Gift,” (2) select “DAF,” then (3) choose your financial institution or DAF provider from a list.
Cyber (Crypto) Currency-
With the Giving Block’ donation tools we can now give our donors a seamless cyber (crypto) currency donation experience. Starting from a donor opting to give crypto gifts online, Giving Block immediately verifies the value, generates a receipt, and we are informed of the value that gift generates for Bridging Tech. Due to Giving Block’s ‘autosell conversion’ the value is calculated right as the sale occurs, and transfers these crypto gifts to cash.
Stock Gifts -
Perhaps your stock portfolio grew in 2023. If you donate some stock then you will not incur capital gains tax on the amount that you contribute to Bridging Tech. If you were to sell the stock on the market to donate cash, then that would reduce the amount given by as much as 20%. Your contribution will go further with a direct stock gift and can be transferred online via the same three steps as for DAFs and Crypto.
FUTURE FOCUS:
In 2024, Bridging Tech Can Support Your Education About Specialized Donation Vehicles for Funding Diversification
Fundraising is changing and along with ONLINE GIVING options, we can help you plan.
Setting Charitable Gift Annuities (CGA), trusts, or bequests up as tools for giving to the nonprofits that you care about the most, while attending to your fiscal roles and responsibilities is a best practice in financial planning.
In addition, if you are engaged in estate planning and you value Bridging Tech’s mission, then we would be honored to be named as a beneficiary.
Our team would be happy to connect you with a legal advisor to work on estate planning, and educate you about the tax benefits to CGAs and living wills, trusts, and planned gifts.
CGAs, trusts, and estate gifts will be significant in helping Bridging Tech diversify revenues and increase our long-term stability. To learn more: Email "contact us"
