Thank You to All of Our Supporters

Our current momentum is bringing us closer to bridging the digital divide.

Hello, friends! 👋

Thank you so much for your continued support of Bridging Tech! We are looking forward to having more conversations with you and collaborating with each other to accelerate the change necessary in the world.

As you know, the pandemic and its associated impacts on education are as present as ever. Thus, we are working even harder to bridge the digital divide in the United States. This update is an overview of what we have been able to accomplish with the help of supporters such as you.

We at Bridging Tech are incredibly grateful for your generosity and encouragement, and we will continue working around the clock to transform students’ lives across the country.

Thank you for your support,

Isabel and Margot

Our Impact

We started Bridging Tech in late April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic with a mission to bridge the digital divide by empowering students with educational opportunities and technology. Here are a few exciting updates.

In seven months, we accomplished:

  • Successful fundraising for 1,500 laptops for learning, which we distribute to children affected by homelessness to allow them to thrive during this period of at-home learning

  • Expanding to serve homeless shelters with device needs in 15 cities across the country

  • Growing our core team to almost 50 dedicated young adult and student volunteers

  • Receiving pledged support from 150 volunteers across the country

  • Crafting mentorship and tutoring programs, along with academic partnerships, in order to give our students enriching educational opportunities

During our most recent fundraiser:

  • We raised more than double our fundraising goal with your support, which allows us to give laptops to almost 1,000 students affected by homelessness

  • We partnered with Computers 2 Kids (C2K), our national refurbishing partner, so that our refurbished laptops can go out to the students we serve for only half the cost we handled previously

  • We received 1,700 device donation pledges, most of which are being shipped to C2K or stored in preparation for our local device collections

And have you heard? 📣 Our collective efforts to bridge the digital divide have recently been featured on TechCrunch, Good Morning America, NBC Nightly News, Thrive Global, SiriusXM, Stanford News Service, Coffee with America, AwareNow Magazine, and many other sources.

We are so grateful for this news coverage, because it brought you to us! Thank you for sharing your passion for our cause.

Get Involved

Do you want to join the cause?

As the pandemic has forced many schools to continue to operate remotely, the devices that you have provided have gone to help hundreds of students across the country engage with their education.

Please let us know if you would like to work together to magnify our impact. We are always looking for ways to innovate and improve our services to help as many children affected by homelessness as possible.

You can become a volunteer or donate.

Thank you for showing support by giving your time. We will be sure to reach out to you when there are opportunities to volunteer by hosting technology donation drives or helping out our regional teams in a city near you.

If you can, donate devices!

After cleaning out your closets for extra devices, if your company has cyclical hardware refreshes, please consider motivating your IT team to donate old laptops and tablets to Bridging Tech. With the help of our refurbishing partner, we can guarantee that all information is wiped, and the devices are properly refurbished.
